What turkey will you shoot?
Any tom, jake or bearded hen
Any tom or jake
A mature tom (2year old and up) only
Just the grand daddies
I don't "chase" turkeys....

I voted for any tom, jake or bearded hen. But I may change since I'll be hunting private property this year. So I may just wait until the last weekend to shoot just any tom, jake or bearded hen. Now if I was hunting where I normally hunt HNF, sorry bird but DON'T get within my killing range.

I voted for the "mature tom". Not much meat on a jake and he won't be gobbling next year. I've had a chance at a bearded hen, but I like the double-bearded gobblers we've been getting too much to shoot one of them.

Well, considering I've tried to figure out these things for about 8 seasons to no avail, I would probably take whatever hairy breast comes along. A big tom would be nice, though.

I'm in the same boat for my 4th season. I had a hen at point blank range last spring, but that was it. Of course when they're NOT in season...here's what you see... (This is 10' behind my father in laws barn)!!!! Birds are on the other side of the river now, but hopefully they'll make it back to the farm! ;D Maybe I'm just a lousy turkey hunter too.

Actually I would like a bearded hen to mount...
Being fairly new to this game I will take whatever is legal until I get some experience under my belt.

I've only taken mature Tom's so far, and I don't plan on taking a jake. But, sometimes plans change when your short on time etc.

I've told you before that it isn't my fault you don't pay attention! If it wasn't for me we would have been inside of Bass Pro instead of killing a bird! Besides, you should be happy that I actually paid for my half of the trip. ;D

Any Tom, or Jake.
And for fun, I kinda enjoy having my photo taken with my Jake or little basket 8-pointer-just to give the "serious" hunters somethin to scowl about.

Indy, for all the work I did in calling in a bird for you to kill and provide the experiment the an out of state hunt you should have paid for the entire trip. Don't make me submit my claim to Madison County. You know I'm known there on a first name basis. ;D
I thought you would have had a Kentucky hunt all set up for us this year. Must I do all the planning?

For all the work you did? Quite the comedian. If you need any help killing a bird on that nice new private property your hunting this year, let me know. I thought about hunting Kentucky this year. I never could find a good guide like you had last year in MO. The guys in Kentucky just didn't want to give up any info on where the birds are and where is an easy place to stay. Not for an out of stater anyhow.
