They look pretty good in the catalog. The Handi rifles have to be fitted for accessory barrels. These, if I understand correctly, require no fitting. they simply interchange off the shelf. That's a real plus.
I didn't see any prices. Wonder what the cost is?

I see on line that Bud's has the Realtree AP with blue .243 23"brl (currently out of stock) priced at $296 with Midwest at $315 for the same. Midwest also showed a 45-70 blue brl for $138. I, too am curious about the price and availability of the .44 mag. I'll have to make a few calls tomorrow and see what some of the local shops have to say.

I called 8 different gun shops in central Indiana yesterday (had a little windshield time) inquiring about the new Rossi Wizard. No one had ever heard of the gun. I explained that I first saw an ad in the most recent American Hunter magazine (NRA) and then did an online search. I was a bit surprised at the condescending attitude and a few comments made about me "reading an ad" in the AH - still can't figure that one out. I gave them my simple opinion that I think this gun will be a hit once they become more readily available. 7 out of the 8 shops pretty much treated me as stupid or just simply "blew me off"! That kind of yanked my chain a bit, to be honest. The one shop that showed great interest and said they will "definitely get hold" of one of these and then call me was Premier Arms in Brownsburg IN. Nick must have talked for a half an hour and agrees that based on their clientele - this gun will be a "Big Hit" and he wants to be on the leading edge of the sales. I guess we'll see.

I don't think I'd own anything with the Taurus name on it.... Heard way too many bad things about customer service.

The only problem I have with Taurus stuff is resale value. You pay almost as much for new stuff as you would for say Smith & Wesson or Marlin etc. but if you ever decide to resell or trade it in you take a huge hit. That only happened to me a once or twice and then it was no more Taurus's.

Of the few reviews that I could find on the Wizard, most are negative. I've owned 2 Taurus handguns, both of which I was pleased with. But, like danf, I've heard a lot about problems with CS.

I appreciate the notice of Taurus CS problems. I have a friend who owns the PT92. He is very happy with it - a few thousand rounds without a glitch. However, I've heard some horror stories of their CS, also. Good reminder. I'd probably still gamble on the single shot Wizard. My only experience has been with the Rossi Youth combo and it has been excellent.

Not yet parson. I was in to Beech Grove Firearms one day last week and they said they still can't get their hands on one of the Wizards. One of the fellas said he thinks this is about the longest "lead" he has ever seen a mfr. put on a gun before it becomes available. I'd still like to check one out somewhere if anybody else has a lead.
