Just wondering whats going on in everyones area. Friday afternoon I saw 3 hens and a long beard in a field. Have not been out early to listen to gobbling, but seems like we will have an early turkey rut here in S. Indiana. Whats going on in y'alls area?

I went out Saturday to trim shooting lanes & remove timbered tops from my ATV access trails. Up by one of my hillside stands were around 10-12 birds feeding & carrying-on among themselves. They had worked the hillside like hogs for about 200 yards.

Haven't seen any for a while, but then again, I'm not watching like I was during deer season. Found some good sign on the back nine last weekend. Lots of scratching done up on the ridge.

Have seen a couple of small groups (one of 11, other with 21) out in the pasture at same time, which means the large flock down the road is starting to break up (about 2-3 weeks earlier than normal). Only seeing them every couple of days, but should move to daily within a couple of weeks.
Will try and get the trail cam repositioned this weekend to get some pics.

Lately they have just been trying to stay warm around here.
I see the same flocks day in and day out, doing what turkeys do ... walk around in the fields and eat. Not much will change until early April.

I wish there were 11 turkeys in my area!

The toms in my area are starting to gobble a little bit. Other than that they seem to be spending a fair amount of time posing in front of my trail cam. I haven't seen any hens for awhile.

Heard a ton of gobbling on the 24th of February in the Western part of Indiana. I couldn't believe my ears. I have been hunting in that area for 23 years and this is by far the earliest that I have ever heard birds gobbling except for an occasional jake testing out his lungs in the fall of the year.Got in my blind and took a few photo's of four mature birds stutting for the ladies. No gobbling or fighting just a whole lot of displaying. I hope these pictures come through. Hope it fire you guys up. It sure did it for me.
