National Wild Turkey Federation Commits $175,000 to Building Strength of Sportsmen’s Caucuses
Nashville, TN: Yesterday at their national convention, the National
Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) continued their strong commitment to making
sure sportsmen’s voices are heard in state legislatures and the U.S.
Congress by presenting a check in the amount of $175,000 to support the
critical work of the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation (CSF) and
National Assembly of Sportsmen’s Caucuses (NASC).
The NWTF has been one of the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation’s top
supporters in recent years. Their continued support will allow CSF to
continue to work with members of the Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus
to lead the charge on critical legislative initiatives and
appropriations.
With their commitment to the NASC, NWTF is continuing to show vision
and leadership in backing the NASC’s efforts to coordinate communication
between state sportsmen’s caucuses to help legislators advance a
pro-sportsmen’s agenda. In addition to financial support to build the NASC
infrastructure, NWTF has encouraged state chapters to support caucus
efforts at the state level, with a total of 25 state chapters contributing
funds.
“I am hard pressed to think of any idea or action that has greater
potential to protect the interests of our sportsmen and to further a
pro-conservation agenda than the formation of state sportsmen’s caucuses,”
stated Rob Keck, CEO of the NWTF.
“From the beginning of our efforts to form state sportsmen’s caucuses
and in launching the National Assembly of Sportsmen’s Caucuses, NWTF has
been with us. We are proud to have NWTF and a half million members on
the ground putting their shoulder to the wheel with us,” stated Jeff
Crane, CSF President.
About CSF: For 16 years, the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation
(CSF) has been working with the members of the Congressional Sportsmen’s
Caucus to provide sportsmen a seat at the table when decisions impacting
our outdoor traditions are debated in the nation’s capital. With the
success of the Sportsmen’s Caucus in the U.S. Congress, CSF is now
helping to start state legislative sportsmen’s caucuses to provide a voice
for sportsmen closer to home. Through our unique affiliation with state
and federal elected officials, CSF serves as the sportsmen’s link
between these decision-makers and our partners in the nation’s leading
conservation organizations. For additional information, visit the CSF
website at www.sportsmenslink.org or call 202-543-6850.
About NASC: Launched in December 2004, the National Assembly of
Sportsmen’s Caucuses is the network of state legislative sportsmen’s caucuses.
The NASC assists in the formation of new sportsmen’s caucuses and
provides the venue for focused interaction and idea exchange among state
caucus leaders, sportsmen’s groups, industry, media and other potential
partners. For additional information, visit the NASC website at
www.statesportsmenslink.org or call 202-543-6907.
