You have been working a bird all morning. It is now 11:30 am and he has gone quiet. You are in the middle of your property sitting on top of a ridge when suddenly on your right, this long beard appears only 7 yards away. What do you do?

Sit tight, let him walk by, and then BANG!

I agree. Sit tight. No way I can move and get a shot on him at 7 yards. He'd see me and my pattern isn't out of the wad until about 15. Being left handed though and with him on my right, I wouldn't have to let him to too far out to make a quick move.

To me, that bird looks like it has already spotted trouble and is going to be gone very soon. The choices are to do nothing and hope it is not spooked too badly or to make your move and try to get on it before it gets out of range. If it is not too far to the right I would go for it.

Sit tight and let him walk right into the copper plated lead wall of destruction. He looks like he is going right to left, and I usually try to sit with one leg up to rest my gun on... Looks like he would strut right into the setup.

I don't think this bird has spotted me. If he had his head would be straight up and those feathers on his neck wouldn't be ruffled. Looks to me like he just finished or is getting ready to gobble while walking. Let him walk and when he gets behind a big tree and then get ready when he walks out.

Throw the gun up and shoot him, he's only 7 steps. The first thing he is going to do is throw his head up and putt, or at least stand up straight, giving you enough time to get it on his head by the time he gets 20 or 30 yards.

Last thing I want to do is spook him. He stays alive until he goes behind a tree, or fans out and can't see. If that doesn't happen, then i'll let him walk away, change positions, and try to bring him in again.

Wait him out... he is headed out in front of me.
Hopefuly he will get his ugly head behind a tree or goes into a strut so I can make my move.

I'd wait till he goes behind a tree or fans out and gives me a chance to turn on him. I'd be ready to take a shot no matter what. hw
