That is a nice tag but where is the Lifetime license box? It just has the resident and nonresident but no lifetime...., maybe lifetimers can't hunt turkey!

Not sure. You'll have to ask the DNR that one.

You would just mark "Resident", and put your LL number in the box.

I just use small shipping tags that can be purchased at any office supply stores, they measure about 1 1/2" X 3". They are very durable and come with a string attached. I fill out my name, address, and LL license # ahead of time. Always keep about 3 or 4 in my wallet. Got tired of forgetting the string and cutting up all my boot laces. Oh ya, I also always keep a blank one with me for my buddies that forget theirs.

You know, I took my tag in and the check station didn't look at it or keep it for the record, unlike a deer tag.

For several years now I have been carrying one or more mostly "filled out" temporary tags in my hunting cap and wallet along with a ball point pen in my shirt pocket. I have a lifetime license and I use business cards (blanks or backs of existing ones). Also, for added convenience I always carry at least one medium to large-sized safety pin (one inside all my hunting caps and usually one inside the flap on my hunting shirt pocket). You can leave the safety pin attached to your shirt and it will not hurt a thing to leave it there when the shirt is washed. Like the commercial says, "Never leave home without it." A safety-pinned temporary tag works fine for me. It is easy to put on, generally out of the way when transporting, yet easy to take off when at the check station.
Safety pins are good for more than diapers!

I have used McDonald's sacks before, when I handed it to the woman at the check station she took it from with only a two finger grip & kinda went yuck. I told her it was all I had.

A simple way to cure this is to make up enough tags for the next 20 years and be done with it. The way I finally settled on was simple. Went to Wally World and bought a common hole puncher, a couple of packs of 3x5 filing cards, a dispenser of Hole Reinforcement stickers, and a bundle of Household Twine.
Sit down and start placing the hole stickers on one end of the cards, enough for deer, turkey, items for storage, etc.
Use the hole puncher to open up the stickers that looks like a doughnut.
With the Twine [nylon] cut into 16" lengths, tie at both ends to prevent raffling.
With a pile of the cards ready to go, thread the doubled up end through the hole, run the knotted ends though and snug it up.
Use a ball point pen to put your info on the card.
I start with using one of the peel off return address labels that I get in the mail on a regular basis.
Then write down your CID #, license #, County, Gun or Bow, Time, Sex, etc.
I some times put down my Cell Phone # on mine when I leave a Turkey or Deer at an Amish friends house to be processed, just in case a CO drops by his house.
I telecheck every thing now, but use the tags anyway just for the Helluvit.
Yeah, making up all those ready to use tags takes some time, but it's time well spent as you can put several in a Zip Loc bag and put one in your Turkey bag, Deer bag, Duck bag, or whatever, and all can be done in the comfort of your home.

If I have the time, I try to find any white postal envelopes that are made from Mylar. Those won't tear. Use a sharpie to put most of the info down before hitting the field.
tenring, that is a great system!!!!
