I bought my nephew a youth model 20ga. last year and was told to try some Rem. Hevi-shot through it. I did and was very impressed.
I will stick to my Nitro's for the 12 ga. though.

Gobblestopper, There isn't a whole lot of difference in the two is there? I use the Hevi-Shot in #5s and am well pleased with it. Woodmaster uses the 3 1/2" Nitros (OUCH!) and he likes it very much.

Woody, I have only taken the advice from other's, but I have heard that there is a pretty good difference between the two. Might try it sometime since Nitro's went up in price....again.

Rhino choke and Remington Hevishot is the combo that works best in my wife's 20 gauge 870. I've been told that the Hevishot often patterns really well in 20 gauge guns.

I killed a bird at 52 yards last year in Texas with Nitros. Dropped him like a sack of tators. The Nitros are expensive but hopefully I'll only shoot 3 or 4 a year. I'll spend twice as much on slugs than I will on turkey loads in a year.

Old Nitro Ray was in bad shage for a while. He got bit by a spider. They were very worried about him for a while.

Woodmaster, I guess they are easier for us to justify, since we can buy them one, two or three at a time and not have to buy a whole box. If I had to, I don't know that I would do it. The way I get them I can just get one or two a check and it doesn't seem like I am spending a fortune I did use up a couple of extra's this winter on some geese. They'll reach out there for them too . Had them loaded as the second shot.
