Well this weekend (Opening of Tenn season) has just started but what a hunt to remember, he came in following a hen, spittin and drumming, chasing one of the ugliest hens I have ever laid eyes on but I got her fired up and she done the rest. Took him at 25yds, 20lbs, 10 inch beard, 1inch spurs.

Varmint, Yes I used the 835 with 3.5 inch High Vel #6, 4th bird I have taken with these shells in two years, work great. Thanks for the congrats fellas, I swear I wish I had it on video, it was one of the quickest most memorable hunts for sure. Didn't see any this morning, did hear them had to come in early have an easter dinner to attend, going to Greeneville, Tn in the morning to hunt with some friends and then its bowhunting monday evening, and both hunts on Tuesday. Will be back home in Hoosierland Weds. Happy Easter everyone.

Way to go! What part of Tennessee were you hunting? I was hunting upper east Tenn. (Hawkins County). TONS of birds down there!
Nice bird...congrats!

Greene County borders Hawkins County to the southeast. Some beautiful areas there. I am not sure where Union County is.

Meta, I am in total agreement with you on the population overload over on the far east in Tenn. When I hunted there Monday morning I heard more toms gobbling then I did all 3 years combined hunting Union Co. which is northwest of Knoxville.
