I have a push style call now and a few diaphrams. I am think about buying a box call too, just to practice with as many types of them as possible. What do you all prefer and why?

A Cody glass is my go to call. It makes the most realistic sounds I think. I use a diaphram alot to but when it gets tough I always go back to the glass call. hw

I have almost always went to a glass call in the past, but this spring I am going to be starting probably every bird with a copper call. Everyone that I have sent one to says that it will also be their go to call.
It all depends on what the birds want though. I'm not afraid to use anything. In Nebraska last spring, a box call was the only thing that the birds would respond to. No mouth calls, slate calls, glass or crystal calls would work at all.

I carry 1 box,a couple of diaphrams and 4 different slate glass and alum calls. I prefer the slate and glass over everything.

I use a slate and a Primos Power Crystal , mouth calls aren't optonal for me due to my dentrifrice structure , and I haven't tried a box call other than playing with one at a store .

hey jajwrigh, i prefer slate and glass, mostly glass, you must find the sweet spot and they require a lot of sanding and conditioning to fool those big o gobblers.. good luck turkey scout

Friction until the birds are too close, then diaphram.

I prefer all of them. You never know what they will respond to on any given day. Therefore I am prepared to "give em' what they want".
