I agree with the top pics but I would never take the shot of the bird facing me in full strut with a gun. Wait till he gets his head up or turns to the side. Unless you don't care what the fan looks like afterwards then it wouldn't matter. hw

I always aim just low of the head, more into the neck area...it gives you a little more room for error.
