I've got a Winchester 1300 and was thinking about painting it camo.Just wondering if anyone has tried it,or has some tips, such as what type of paint and whether you should use an airbrush or a brush.Any tips would be appreciated.

I painted a shotgun once using the removable como spray paint. It didn't turn out to bad. I think if you have access to an airbrush, that would do a lot better job.
You may check into having the gun dipped. Pretty reasonable and pretty durable also.

I painted 3 shotguns last year. First I wiped them down with alcohol to remove any oil. Then If the wood was real shiny, or if they were plastic, I scuffed them with 220 and wiped them down good. I then removed the trigger assembly and butpad and taped off anything I didn't want painted. Then I painted the whole gun moss green, and painted leaves all over it using black, tan, brown and cardboard stencils I made on my PC. It is important to use flat paint for this. It's easy, cheap and they turned out pretty good. Good luck.

It was fun. I'll try and get some pics. I also made some turkey, goose and duck stencils to blend in with the camo as part of the pattern.

I have my shotgun and muzzleloader taped up in that soft cloth feeling camo tape. They turned out well. I have hunted with them two seasons and they have held up well.
