Tent camping with electric and water looking for someplace with good trails and plenty of nature to enjoy and some decent fishing.... but not overcrowded with people every which way you turn....

Good luck. Since the State raised their prices twice in the past few years, and private campgrounds following suit. There isn't much out there that isn't overcrowded. Of course, that depends on what your definition of overcrowded might be. DNR website has plenty of info on which of theirs has trails etc. Best bet is hitting the off-season...anything prior to Memorial Day, and anything after September are usually better than summer (minus those who camp during the fall leaf season down south). Other than that, forget the electric and pack your tent deep into public property (where allowed, and when deer and turkey seasons are not in!). You not have much overcrowding I guarantee.

Duff, don't give all my secrets away. I gave up on spying on the college cheerleader camp a couple years ago. And yes, an incredible and awesome experience is definitely what Lefty suggested. Best thing of all is the free driving range and free beer right there onsite! (assuming you bring your own clubs, golf balls, and beer). Good company is free also.

I am sure I've stayed there but sure didn't see cheerleaders, golfers or free beer. Had a good view of the creek though.
