The Germans liked Hitler too,but we'd been better off without him...... Sometimes it is better just to not say anything Not sure deer hunting and Hitler are of the same calliber compairson. I'd say some Hoosiers like OBR but we'd be better without it ;D

The Germans liked Hitler too,but we'd been better off without him...... I see where you are coming from randy, you see that it will make it easier for the dishonest, greedy hunters to bend the laws just as the lifetime thing did. I see some of that also, but I also see where the other side stands that a poacher will always be a poacher. A dishonest, greedy person (and theres a ton) will break the law whether we have telecheck or not. I feel the DNR lost most control when they did away with the store issued tag that had the removable perforated leg tag,not a hand written note. It would be nice in Sept not to worry about the heat and finding a check station. Trust me bud, anytime you mention killing less deer, the obr or sticking with the more honest check policy you will become a villain real quick..lol

honest check policy?...Honestly comes from the person, not the policy...Some people can't handle the honor system...that's not a policy problem.

I agree, people are going to do what they were raised to do regardless of what policies are in place. How many guys you think have strictly followed the obr since it was put into place? We will have to wait and see what happens, it will be interesting to see if Indiana breaks anther harvest record when they go to telecheck know what I'm sayin ;D

The Germans liked Hitler too,but we'd been better off without him...... believe me, those of us who hunt Kentucky know what poachers can and will do with telecheck, Indiana really needs it for several reasons, and we aren't Kentucky, for the most part, no offense

I agree that a numbered/perforated leg tag would be a great thing to have back! I also agree that poachers are poachers, and that laws are for the law abiding....... I respect the opinions of those who dis-agree with my OPINION on this issue(which is obviously the majority) I just feel like we are leading our ducks to poor water on this one,and I'd be a poor steward of the sport I love if I didn't speak up!....If anyone was offended by my Hitler comparison I will apologize...I'm sorry, I did not mean to put my friends, neighbors,or the sport we all love in a category with a monster. I was only trying to make a point.... Helpfull advice......Telecheck or no, a deer will keep a long time in 60-70 degree weather if hung with the hide in tact and chest cavity packed with ice. The hide acts like a cooler and the hind quarters will be cold to the touch after several DAYS.

I hunt KY also and love tell check by the time I'm at the barn I've all ready checked it in. Would really like to see internet based system, most people carry smart phone and could do it from there. Yes the tag would be nice but I keep all old KY licenses in a folder.

I keep my old KY licenses/logs with my catalogs/equipment manuals etc. A cheater is a cheater no matter what you do. I love telecheck. Sounds like the main hurdle getting it set up here is $$$.

Anyone who would cheat with a telecheck system would and probably already does cheat under our current system. It is just as easy to drive by a check station with an extra buck as it is to lie on telephone. That is the bottom line. DITTO! I'll be glad to see telechek!

If $$$$$ are the problem, just raise the price of a license a couple of bucks, and bingo, it's paid for. What's all the hubub, bub?

I was only trying to make a point.... Understood....But be careful what you post as it might be taken the wrong way. Also in 60-70 degrees F. you would want to check your Deer in ASAP. Then process it ASAP.

Okay, say we do get Telechek. I like to debone my own deer then take what meat I want into a butcher to smoke it and make sausage out of it. He requires a tag with the meat. Are they going to mail me a tag or give me a number over the phone. How would this work? What do they do in Kentucky?

I've NEVER lost one letting it cure packed in ice,and I always do so,for 3-5 days..... Perhaps I owe my brother's in-ground garadge a greater debt than I ever realized? I dont want to be responsible for getting the conversation off track,so after making some of you , and some of you , I feel I've made my opinion abundantly clear, and now I'll and ,while you guys say your piece on Telecheck......

All for telecheck - cost cutting and convienence for all involved. Why make laws that put obstacles in the way of law abiding citizens in their efforts of attaining the harvest goals set by the state? Be honest with yourself, most poachers don't purchase a license to begin with and could care less about the requirement to check the animal in.

i once had a friend that had a LTL that lived in the area where i hunt , WHEN HE GOT A DEER, he would tag it but went straight home(and did not go to check station) and hung it up, every couple days ,he would renew his paper tag, then finally he would butcher it up,situations like this probably happen all the time, i question him on it,he said i was stupid to drive 40 miles just to check in a deer, he said d.n.r. doesn't care anymore about if someone check it in or not, well i said i'm going to do it the right way ,and besides ,i have a grandson that needs to be taught the right way, this guy has a son, doesn't have a LTL, HE JUST BRING THEM HOME,then goes back out and hunts with his fresh tag that was not used....PLEASE BRING ON TELE-CHECKING....these guys will never change!!!!!!!................turkey scout
