General Fall Turkey Hunting Regulations
Limit: 1 wild turkey either sex per fall irrespective of weapon. Shooting Hours: 1/2 hour before sunrise to sunset.
License Reguirements:
Fall Turkey License* (resident and nonresident#) plus a gamebird habitat stamp.
* This is a separate license, spring licenses not applicable.
# Non-Residents of some states (e.g. IL, KY, & OH) must also purchase an annual non-resident hunting license.
or
Comprehensive licenses (Lifetime and Youth).
or
Qualifying landowners or active military personnel on leave.
Check Stations: Utilize deer check stations (age and sex determined by plumage characteristics) and self-locking seals used for deer.
IDNR FWA and Reservoir Properties: Some IDNR Properties with high hunter use or high spring hunter demand, may limit or disallow fall turkey hunting opportunities.
Additional Rules: All other regulations pertaining to spring turkey hunting apply (e.g. shot sizes, gauges, non-electronic decoys allowed, no electronic calls, or no baiting, and no dogs).
2005 Fall Turkey Hunting Range
Counties for Archery Only:
Barthlolomew, Cass, Clay, Davies, Decatur, Dekalb, Fayette, Fountain, Fulton, Gibson, Greene* (west of White River), Jasper (East of I 65 and north of Hwy114) , Johnson, Knox, LaGrange, LaPorte, Montgomery, Morgan, Newton(north of Hwy 114) , Parke, Posey, Pulaski, Putnam, St. Joseph, Starke, Steuben, Sullivan, Tippecanoe, Marshall, Union, Vanderburgh, Vermillion, Vigo, Warren, and Wayne.
Counties for Both Archery and Gun Hunting:
Brown, Clark, Crawford, Dearborn, Dubois, Floyd, Franklin, Greene* (east of White River), Harrison, Jackson, Jefferson, Jennings, Lawrence, Martin, Monroe, Ohio, Orange, Owen, Perry, Pike, Ripley, Scott, Spencer, Switzerland, Warrick, and Washington.
