If it were up to me I'd rather have two Tom's in the spring.... I will not shoot a hen under any situation and to me it only complicates bow season...

I hope they extend fall turkeys to include ALL of the early archery season. It was GREAT!!!! This year.
Having the opportunity to harvest turkeys caused me to sit that extra hour or so on the morning hunts, even though the "prime time" for deer movement was dwindleing the chances of seeing a turkey are good..
I would love an extra two weeks of archery opportunity for fall turkey, even if it meant eliminating the 5 days of fall firearms on them.
As for complicating archery.....THAT wont be an issue forever!

No more that was killed by archers I think and expansion of the achery portion could very well work.
In the past years I have been coverd up wth turkeys, mostly hens.
This year could I get just one measly hen within range? No way, Jose...
I think the 5 day guns season should be left alone.

I agree Woody. I was very surprised at how few people actually particpate in the firearms season. I wonder if most people decided to save their vacation time for deer season.

I dedicated 1 (one) day (last Friday 10-21-2005) to fall shotgun turkeys. We hunted hard all day, Washington County in the morning and Monroe County in the mid afternoon. Seen 4 deer! and no turkey.
I don't have a problem with the 5 day gun, but I would REALLY like to see archery expanded the last two weeks.....so if something had to be gave up for those extra two weeks,

I agree with those who think that we should have a longer Archery season. I think that I have seen and heard more turkey's than deer so far this year. had some great scenarios with the wiley birds but was unable to bag. I would vote to keep season open as long as archery is open. With the amount of bowkills the state had, then it would only make sense to keep it open.

I cannot see myself putting away my bow to hunt fall turkeys with a gun. However, I may take a gobbler while hunting deer but only as a target of opportunity should one give me a bowshot. And I might be only interested in taking a bird once in the fall. Otherwise, fall turkeys really don't interest me. I like the attitude of the spring birds much better.
