Purchased a used 870 off an individual from another hunting site. When I got it home, I took it apart to clean the 870. When I went to put it back together (I have 3 other 870's and have never had any problems), the slide assembly will not lock into the main housing. When you cycle the shotgun (without the barrel installed), the bolt and hand guard assembly come right out of the main assembly. It will not lock in place. It also feels like it is binding. I even tried installing the barrel and the barrel will not seat all the way into the main assembly. Anyone know of any gunsmiths near Warsaw that can help me. I am extremely frustrated. Kevin I was thinking that there was a spring clip on the inside that has to be pushed aside to allow the slide to go by it and lock the slide into position. I was thinking you access this through the bottom, maybe with a small screwdriver. Be careful and don't get your fingers in there. You may have already tried this, since you say you have others. Its been a while since I have taken any of mine completely apart. Just a suggestion. Be careful, if you try to do it yourself!

Got the gun working, but still binding. Feel they are bent or out of speck. Taking to a Remington gun smith this week. Thank you for your help.
