Okay I have a question about trapping fish. I have been talking to friends in other states about trapping fish. They use traps to catch bullheads to use for bait for catfish. I want to do the same because they work so well and it would save me time. My question is that okay to do in Indiana? And what happens if I catch something other than bullheads like gills or bass? I know thhe pond I want to do this at is a private pond as well. If I get the okay from the owner would I be able to trap then? Thanks BB

In a private pond, with no ingress or egress of state waters, you can do what you wish. As long as you have the owners permission, you are good to go!! If you find a trap that works well for you, shoot me a PM, I'd like to see your trap design. Next to green sunfish and pumpkin seeds, bullheads are GREAT for big flatheads!! It would save me some time catching bait!
