I didn't care for that part , but then the Courier-Journal has never been one to get all the facts before printing . So now there's national level legislation afoot to hamstring the deer procurers ? Good , I hope they make it a hanging offense .

Myself I would never hunt deer in a high fence operation. But I do believe in the long run IDNR will lose this battle. It will eventually be deem unconsitutional for the IDNR to determine what a man does on his own property.

That may be....but the government has every right to regulate the interstate transport of live cervid.

Yes you are camby the states can regulate transport of live cervid and dead ones as well. But IDNR could make regualtions that makes near impossible for these types of operations to make it. Such as if a place wants to installl a high animal proof fence then a biologist from IDNR must come in and inspect the fence and take a estimated count of all of the state's wildlife that are within the enclosure and a charge/price should be affixed to each animal affected by the fence which the operation must pay, pretty much the operator is paying the state for the state's wildlife which it is claiming with the fence. Then make these operation have to renew permits ever year with a high price attached to them to operate such a place. Then require such places to conduct so much testing to ensure the animals are healthy to prevent the spread of diseases. This way you are telling what a man can do on his property. Just making nearly impossible to make a business out of it, and if they do then it really puts some money in the kettle for IDNR.
