what time of year do you seasoned bow fishers usually get started. going to try to get into the sport this year and in need of some advice and possibly some fishing partners.

People around here (Decatur) use start hitting it hard in May. Probably start in April in KY.

I'm gonna start 2010 as soon as it warms up a little. My main place I bowfish has street lights over the river but they are turned off in the winter. When those lights come on, I'll be out there on the St. Joseph river.

there is going to be a carp shoot June 12-13 up in Mongo, IN 7am saturday to 10 am sunday

We generally fish year round as long as there is no hard water. I have been seeing several nice Buffs the last couple of weeks. Soon as daytime temps click in the 50's it starts getting better though!
