Here is a pic of my vizsla with the rooster we took on the last day of the season this year. It is the only time I have seen her pose for a picture - I made her stop nosing he bird and she looked at me as if to say "take the $#@! picture". Gun is a 1939 Fox Sterlingworth 16 guage. Cary

Pretty cool. I can definitley appreciate it. It's not that easy to get everything set up and have the dog "stay" in postion for the shot. Nice gun, too. Love the "sweet" 16's!

My wife and I are looking at a Vizsla. How do you like and did you get locally?

Hello, thanks for kind words from all. I am in NW Indiana and searched the web for V breeders close enough to drive to. I wanted to choose a very good breeder, then let the pup choose me. I contacted Busch Vizslas, they are located just west of Rockford, IL. While pricey, I am 100% satisfied and my vet marvels at how well bred she is. I believe there are some other good breeders within our midwest region. To me, owning a vizsla is very special, my grandfather told my father about the breed from time spent in the old country and that was about the time they first come to America (vizslas). He never did buy one and even though he is now gone, I continued the dream and now own one. Sophie makes me smile every single day and I think V's are just a great breed. She makes a great pet and finds birds too They are very clean and the shed hair is easy to clean up (usually). I don't think Vizslas are a dog for beginners on their own. I sought help from a trainer to teach me and the Busch's supplied very good information on raising a pup. All I am saying is follow their advise even if you think it doesn't matter and you will be rewarded. Here is a link to the Busch's. I am sure they can also help find a close breeder for you. Jim and Linda are fine people. www.buschvizslas.com/oh, btw... if you don't really want to get one, do NOT look at the puppy pics! They will taint your descision. Cary

Thank you for the link. I love the pics. Will now have to talk to the wife. She actually found these and really wanted one. We will see.
