I was interested in buying a Remington r-15 camo .223 but I was told this rifle is no more than a glorified bushmaster with camo paint. I ended up purchasing a DPMS .223 free float stainless bull barrel new w/ flattop upper. Some of my terminoligy may be wrong I don't have much experience with the black guns. My question is this - is this rifle going to do the same things the Remington would have for coyotes? As accurate, durable etc...

DPMS makes nice ARs. I'm sure it will give you no problems with depenability or accuracy. You did good.

You have purchased a fine gun. It should exceed all of your expectations!

The main thing you need to watch about DPMS ARs is the chamber size... They're "5.56" chambers, but they're really closer to a Wylde chamber... This is good for .223 (and good for accuracy), but they have been known to over-pressure some hot 5.56 loaded ammo, and (Wolf) cases are more likely to get stuck in the chamber...
If you're going to be firing thousands and thousands of rounds, you might want to pick up a BCM (Bravo Company) BCG (bolt-carrier group) for $130... That's not just a DPMS thing, though... You won't find a top of the line HPT/MPI (High Pressure Tested / Magnetic Particle Inspected) BCG in any of the "normal" ARs (DPMS, Bushmaster, Remington, CMMG, etc)... You didn't say the length, but it's more of an issue with Carbine gas systems, as they're high pressure and faster cycling than the rifle length gas systems...

Sound advice from barton174.
You now have a great excuse to start reloading as well, so most of the chamber issues would be moot.

With the DPMS, I'd stick to the .223 loadings. Most commercially available varmint bullets are loaded at .223 pressures anyway.
