I hope you guys aren't getting sick of seeing my kid..... but here's another thread! This evening we went out with Kyle Engleking of Engleking Outdoor Adventures fame..... our goal was to get my son Kyle his first duck or goose of his short hunting career.
After my son attempted to harvest a few ducks he had his chance at some decoying Canada geese. The geese came in picture perfect and my son rose from his layout blind. His first shot was off target, but he lined up another goose and pulled the trigger.... this bird wasn't so lucky and it dropped to the ground. Like many geese, Kyle had to get out of the blind and finish it off with his Escort semi-auto 20 gauge.... and then the celebrating began! It was high-fives all around as the MONSTER goose was brought in from the corn. He's a big one for sure weighing in at 11.89lbs on my digital scale.
This is the caper to an incredible 2009 for my son and I. Whether it was catfishing at 3am, hitting the deer blinds for evening hunts, dropping doves, and now going after the geese... it was no doubt the best season I've ever had!!! I don't know how I'm going to top this with him in 2010!
