Well no luck on Deer. I've seem so many tree rats running around while in my climber I am thinking about hunting from my climber. Man if we could hunt multiple species I would have limited out.

Who says you can't hunt multiple species? I've shot squirrels with my bow on more than one occassion.

As I read the regs: I can't have a none M/L firearm during M/L season (beside the personal protection firearm). So I can't have a 22 rifle along with my M/L if I am hunting deer.

Ya, that's true, I just meant if you're bored and haven't been seeing anything, why not use your weapon at hand?

I've serious thought about a headshot on a ground Squirrel with my .50 Cal. Amazing what several hours in a deer stand w/out seeing anything will make you conjure up! Just get you a squirrel dog and you'll quit worrying about deer hunting! It's a whole lot more action and you'll put 3x's the meat in the freezer.

A .22 pistol could be used for "personal protection" and for hunting squirrels as well. ;D

Havent seen to many deer here at my house, so my son and i hunted out of the stand the other morning for squirrels, and seen 7 friggin deer! Seen more deer than squirrels! Hunted the same stand this afternoon, no deer and 11 squirrels, i swear they know what we are doing as hunters, and laughing at us the whole time!

;d I've always said that! When I was a kid I'd walk the 1/2 mile down to the creek to shoot frogs with my pellet rifle and there would be birds all along the road in the trees and on the wires. On my way back home after typically not getting any frogs and I would plan and taking out some sparrows and starlings...not a bird to be seen, or they would fly away before I got close enough for a shot!
I even use this line of thought while deer hunting. When a deer comes in to my stand, I never look directly at them, and I always think to my self, "I'm just a tree. I'm just a tree. I'm just a tree." Funny, I know! ;d

I looked through the regs and you can't have an over/under drilling. They don't say a thing about side by side drillings. You could get a side by side muzzle loader and pay a gunsmith to ream out the rifling in one barrel and turn one side into a smoothbore and load shot into the smoothbore side.
