Deer hunting sucks. I didn't get out much for deer, only during rifle season a few times. Never even saw a deer, let alone pulled the trigger. The last day of rifle we had a snow storm come in late the night before and after I was done on the plow truck I was able to get out and try to track. I did cut a track but the snow was so loose it was difficult to tell which direction the deer was going. After following the track for 1/3 mile up the mountain I finally decided I was going the wrong way. Turned around and went back to where I started from and followed it another 1/4 mile or so before I had to give up and get other things done. Turkey season should be much better though- the turkeys are *thick* up here. Last day for fall season was 12/15. I hadn't seen the flock around the shop since the October youth weekend when the hunting camp up the road ran them off so I never got out and hunted them. Go figure, on the last day of the season there was a flock of at least 15 right by the shop in the morning and I didn't have my bow. Had a flock of 9 on the road right by our driveway tonight, I saw a beard on at least one of them. We'll see where they are come spring though. Planning on putting in for the moose drawing. Bear next season should be do-able too.

Moose and Bear sound like a good deal. One medium moose should almost fill the freezer. Can you take your bow to work? When I worked a Columbia House you could be fired for bringing a bow onto company property. And that was back in the early 90's.

Yeah, the bosses have no issue with bows or firearms at work. My co-worker used to have bear dogs and may or may not have any by next season, but hopefully I'll be able to go along on a bear hunt next year whether I shoot or not. I have to be drawn for a moose tag and there are people that have been applying for them for decades and haven't gotten drawn. But I have *heard* a moose while I was deer hunting- it was a weird noise, kind of a cross between a cow bawling and a donkey braying.

Yep, that's what I was thinking when I heard it.
I tell you what, though, it was a bit different deer hunting with a centerfire rifle though!
