For ending this miserable duck season.2 years ago I said that was the worst season ever until last year but without a doubt this year was the worst since I started hunting. For those of you down south waiting for that( BIG PUSH) of birds don't hold your breath. Here in the northwest part of the state there are only a handful of ducks. There are a lot of geese but they for the most part will be staying up here.

Any season is a good season. What makes a season bad ? Never had a bad one

Any season is a good season. What makes a season bad ? Never had a bad one Exactly this. If you got to hang out with some buddies and your dog in the great outdoors then it was a good season. Even if you didn't kill a single bird. That's how I think about it anyhow.

No argument from me on your comments UPNORTH what makes this season so bad is that since 1964 I thought I would never see the well go dry but this year i believe it is happening. When you have seasons like this and the past few years everything begins to crumble. People will loose interest in duck hunting, duck clubs close down, revenue is lost with the reduced sales of duck hunting gear then organizations like DU,WATERFOWL USA, and DELTA begin to loose funds (Waterfowl USA is on empty now.) I have been around long enough to say without argument we (meaning INDIANA) are loosing our flyway. I live for Duck season and when I see how bad this one was I know it will hurt even worse as time goes by.

I was thinking that this was one of the worst seasons ever too, then looking back at it I got my first goose band ever (18yrs of hunting) and I have a woodie and a goldeneye at the taxidermist right now.
The mallards just never showed up like they usually do!!!
But like was already said, any time in the blind is a good time ;D
Merry Christmas to all
