Or contact me. I am looking for a deer for my Dad who wasn't able to this year. Will be out this weekend trying to get him one but seriously if anyone in the Lafayette area has an extra I will take it.

Anyone that is looking for a donation center, get on FHFH.org and pull up the Indiana page, it will show state wide all the coordinators and processors that are part of the program.

Thanks for any replies. BOBinIN Just to clear up any confusion "dnr" above refers to "D & R Meats" and they are not quite on the corner but just north of 26 on Creasy on the east side of the road....that much I CAN tell you. I never shop there since it's on the opposite side of town from me and I do all of my own processing, so can't help you with your question but you should be able to just call them since you now have the name of the store. Good Luck on the park hunt though!!!

Dadfsr, Thanks so much for the reply. That "DNR" would have been very confusing. I'll contact them, thanks again. BOB

Last year when I called the D&R on 26 here in Lafayette they were taking deer donations but charging the $80 processing fee. I thought that was silly, it used to be free. Needless to say I didn't donate any and just now finished that last couple grounds in some chilly.

Are you serious? You have to give them $80.00 to take a donated deer off your hands? That's rediculous...someday people will be asking you to pay for bottled water.

Just talked with the butcher at D & R fruit market in Lafayette. It will be a $75 processing fee to donate your deer to foodfinders again this year.

Bigrutdog, Thanks for getting involved and getting an answer to the cost question, I appreciate it.
Throbak, There doesn't appear to be a participating FHFH site available...now what do you suggest, what's your plan "B"?

Thats crazy! 75.00 for a donated deer......sounds like everyone but the hunter is making out here!
I just bet ya that the processor is only taking the large chunks of meat and grinding all of it, 75.00 is way overpriced for that service.
