will they come right to it// do i want to put it were i want to shoot them or closer to me ..will experiment with it but info from the pros would be nice

Yep.. They will come right to it, sniff it and take off like a rocket. I always set mine where I should be able to shoot an incoming coyote before they get to the call. I try to stop any coyote before it gets to my caller, but I've had two coyotes and a red fox in recent months, come in at a run, pause and sniff the caller, then take off at a run. I've been fortunate enough to score hits on both occassions on the coyotes. The first one knocked the call over with its nose, the second coyote and fox just sniffed and ran. On each occasion they've only stopped for a fraction of a second for the sniff test. none of them gave me time to take a standing shot. The fox was out of season no shot taken.

Same here... Probably going to start hunting them on some family land... Didn't take a shot at one about 35 yards away from my stand this deer season, because I didn't want to scare the deer away, with the gunshot and dead smell afterwords... Apparently, it doesn't bother them, so I should have...
