I am ready. I went out in the dark last night and put up my blind. Didn't want to mess with it in the morning. Since my son is hunting with me I had to change my tactics because of the cold. Instead of hunting from a double ladder we will be in the blind with a heater. Figure I will get more time to hunt if I can keep him warm.

So looking forward to it! Wish we had some of this cold during firearms season...

I'll be in my climber, I just can't decide which of 2 spots to use though.

I've yet to come to a solution to keep my lil piggies warm Arctic Shield Boot Blankets stuffed generously with hand warmers. Also those Thermacare backwraps work great too. You can get a 2-pack in the Walmart pharmacy for $6. Strap one of those to your back and it will help keep you toasty. DO NOT allow it too touch your skin directly ;D Where it over your thermals.

If the temps are in the low 20's then I will wait until around noon. Decided that I have sat out in low to mid 20 degree weather with a wind chill in the teens or lower enough. Now if I had a tripod with wall so I could use a small portable heater. Well I can wish anyway.

If the temps are in the low 20's then I will wait until around noon. Not a bad bet really. My personal experiences show once its down close to 20 and lower then early movement is null. I believe they keep their movements minimal to conserve calories and move once things warm up.

I will be hiking a good ways back to a nice ridge that over looks a creek bottom. This particular area always has lots of deer moving through it in the late season! It will be a cold one though...

I don't know about the movement in the morning, but I just shined a few fields on the farm I hunt and they are full of deer right now. Plus three coyotes and the neighbors dog

I will be out, 20ft up, overlooking an inside corner of a cornfield. Will have all of the warmers strategically placed to deal with the cold.
