Hello Kdog,
While I don't night hunt, I have been hunting successfully during the day for the past ten years or so. If you know where the coyotes bed during the day, I would suggest you find a stand downwind of the bedding area. If possible set up within calling range, with an open area of 50 to 150 yards across, between your stand and where you expect the coyotes to come from. Set up so you can see to your downwind side to keep the coyotes from circling in on your stand without you being able to see them and shoot them before they get downwind of you. Be sure to set up with something beind you that will break your outline. A fence row is great. If you have an electronic call, set it 30 or 40 yards upwind of your stand in the open area and try to get the coyotes to leave their cover to come to your caller. If you're using a mouth call, simply blow it and watch for a coyote to come into the open from the bedding area. If it were me, I'd get set up and call right a first light. If the coyotes are there, they'll come.
