I just ordered a stripped DPMS lower in .308! I have figured out that there is a whole new world of caliber options out there with this lower like the .338 federal, 260 rem, and the .243 win to name a few. I am leaning towards the .308 to bridge the gap between my .223 and 450 Bushmaster.

I've been flirting with building a 260 myself. You'll have to keep us updated.

The price of .308 uppers with the C&R discount from Brownells is very attractive. Same thing for many of the other parts to complete the build.

I have no experience with the AR10 platform. Does it use the same LPK and Stocks as an AR15?

I have no experience with the AR10 platform. Does it use the same LPK and Stocks as an AR15? Many of the parts from an AR15 LPK will work on an AR10 but you will need a different take down pins and a much heavier buffer and spring which are typically too long for a AR15 buffer tube and stock. However, there is a guy on ar15.com that makes AR15 length super heavy buffers that allow the use of standard buffer tubes and stocks.
