Looking for suggestions for a five acre food plot that would benefit both deer and turkey. NW Indiana. I am in hardiness Zone 5.
Will clover work for both? Rye grass? Chicory?
(If my garden is any indication, I should just plant beets!)

I did like throbak suggested and went to the NRCS for help on a six-acre plot. I enrolled it into a CRP program planting a field windbreak on the open sides of the field. I then joined Pheasants Forever for $35 and they came out and planted 5 acres of Prairie Grass for free. The USDA covered 90% of all my expenses for the trees, chemicals, fuel, and exc. I now get a yearly check for around $500 a year and the deer use the prairie grass for a bedding area. Good luck on your project.
