Actually got one of my boys to go out with me today and he used my new 44mag Encore to drop a pair of freezer fillers. The hole shown is the exit wound from a 240 grain Hornady XTP at about 25 yards...devastating is less than adequate to describe the results. Sorry for the crappy pics - all I had with me was my cell phone.

I've used that bullet in 44 mag as well as in a muzzlle loader, always had good results with them.

Nice. I used a Steveb special cast lead head .44 on my last deer at home and it absolutely leveled it.

Back during the 2007 season when I still lived in Indiana; I took two Deer with ONE shot from my Ruger Model 77/44. Range was around 50 yards. One Deer was beside the other and I didn't see it, so it was a supprise to find out I got two with one shot! Did the same several years earlier with my .50 cal. Muzzle Loader.
