Killed a nice nine point buck yesterday with my new .375 Whisper. 170 yards, dropped him on the spot.
No more shotguns for me !

170 yards ... guess that round has a bit of a thump to it. Congrats.

Where do you buy a .375 Whisper rifle at? ? I have never really heard of them.

I'm fairly certain it was a custom build. The "Whisper" line is a proprietary line made by SSK Industries/J.D. Jones. Other companies can make the same chamber but they can't stamp it as a "Whisper".

danf has it right. SSK Industries.
I'm going to do another one, if I can find a decent deal on a donor rifle.

What calibers of rifle work best as a donor?

.308 Bolt face size. I think that would also include .260, 7mm-08, .243 and a couple others, but not exactly sure. Not all actions will properly cycle these short stubby rounds, SSK likes to use Ruger 77, Tikka T-3 or Winchester mod. 70. Remington 700, for instance won't work.

That figures! I have a Remington 700BDL chambered for 30-06 that my dad gave me after he killed his muley with it in WY back in 1975, and since I bought a 22-250, I don't use it for groundhogs or predators (with Accelerators) any more. I refuse to sell it because it was my dad's, but I'd like to put it back into service. Guess I'll just have to use it in MI someday? Thanks!

Same deal here. I have an older Remington 700 I wanted to use. He said we could do it, but it would be a single shot, as they don't cycle the rounds well. If I'm gonna go to all of this effort and expense, I'm not going to skimp and wind up with a half azzed rifle. Will try to find a Ruger 77 to use, sometime this winter. Wanting to get another one built for my dad.

Ya, if I wanted a single shot, I'd just buy a Handi-Rifle! ;d Thanks for the info!
