I was able to get home from school for a weekend during the oct. season and knock down some birds. Sat. morning the wind wasnt really cooperating and we had a fair amount of birds land behind us but we were able to scratch out a few good one. 5 geese 2 leg bands and neck collar. Me, Megan, JR, and Dad, not pictured Jeremy and his goose Megan with the neck collar we shot Me with the neck collar, this bird roosted in the same pond I scouted him in last year but i wasnt able to get him then, but I got him this year haha! Sundays hunt was a lot of fun, I brought along my cousin Drew (11y.o) for his first goose hunt. We went duck hunting during the youth season and missed a couple woodies. I decided that he needed to do some trap shooting after that. Well that target practice must have really paid off. We heard some honks out in the distance and settle down into our blinds, after a little calling they were cupped and committed, coming right down on Drews blind, I called the shot and before I could even raise up from my blind Drew had already dusted one, out of the pair that came in, granted it was a mere 5 yards away, I was still impressed. (those can be the toughest ones to hit sometimes!) He then proceeded to pump, swing over to the second goose and smoke him too! (using a mossberg 500 20. ga youth model #2 shot) We exchanged high fives and went and picked up his first limit of hoosier honkers. Drew "da man" stratton me and Drew Jeremy and Drew
