It kills me how some people have to put down other hunters when they take a big deer. im not trying to put him down on this buck. he said it looked 4 1/2 and i think its only 3 1/2. next year it would have been a mainframe ten point as you can see in the pic that his left beam has a sticker point this year on his g4. its a good buck in any regard and i would have shot it in a heartbeat with a bow. just dont know if it is a 4 1/2 year old buck is all im saying No Guarantees....antler size and mass are a terrible if not impossible way to gauge age.

I would say he is........OLD ENOUGH, and he scores about................BIG ENOUGH TO RIDE IN MY TRUCK. I have never been caught up in that whole age structure, score buisness. You just know almost instantly when you see them whether their eating the Muzzy or not. Where I hunt if it's wearing a rack that big, I don't care if it's still on the teet!

Exactly how my buck landed last year when shot with the .44. He fell about 100 yards away from me and I couldn't make up my mind if he was still alive or not at first. Almost cranked another 270 Golddot into him for insurance, but decided he had sat there too long in that position to be alive.
Great looking buck. Congratulations!

I finished the Euro mount today. I think it turned out great. I am going to mount it on a plaque, or a piece of old barn siding if I can find some.

You did a good job on that. I killed one years ago, had several hrs of cleaning involved trying to do a euro. I placed the skull on my garage bench to go buy peroxide to bleach it. When I returned I noticed my then 13 yr old bluetick laying in the yard chewing on something, guess what it was.

Great looking euro! Did you boil it or?? I simmered it over a fire for a few hours. Boiling it is not good for the bone.
