Got my first x bow harvest yesterday evening. Been seeing good numbers, 6 deer per outing. Ive been out 8 times this year, an only 1 time I didnt see a deer. This is the only pic I took of my harvest.

Here is my southern IN buck for this year. Not my biggest but its the one that took the most effort. I made the bow, arrows, and quiver. A knapped stone point through the heart brought him to a quick end.

I managed to get this small 8pt on the opening day of gun season. The woods were alive as I saw a lot of action, some serious chasing was going on.

I thought I shared my southern Indiana success here, but I guess not. This is my first buck and it was extra special, because I shot him in the acre and a half woods behind my grandma's house...

I thought I had posted my take here but I guess not, so here goes. I took this 8 point buck, gun season opening morning about 20 minutes after legal light. I'm not sure if he scented me or was just acting jumpy but he came in to about 30yds to my left in a trot, gave a jump & ran out to a creek about 50yds out to my left. He stopped at the creek and ate a bite or two then walked behind some thick brush along the creek. As he was walking I gave him a grunt he stopped again & looked around then started walking along the creek. He appeared out the other side of the brush I gave him a short bleat, he turned & crossed one of my shooting lanes about 95 yds out. I did a quick bleat to stop him in the lane, I had the crosshairs on him & took a short breath then squeezed the trigger. He spun & dropped, after about 30 sec. his head fell over then I knew he was down. I was shooting a new(to me) high speed slug made by Remington I had it zeroed at 150yds so it was a little high at 95 yds & hit the spine, but the buck was down & I didn't need to do any tracking. That is worth the extra $$ to me. The buck dressed out at 150 lbs. that will be some good eating. I'm not a trophy hunter but if the opportunity offers it's self I'll take it.

Does no shave November have anything to do with getting your buck? Like in guys won't shave until they kill their first big buck in the Month of December? Or is the number of guys wearing long beards more likely due to the "Duck Dynasty" affect? Looks like November was a good Month for beards and killing Bucks.

I suppose I can post mine. He's no bruiser and in fact he's the only deer that gave me a shot all season long. Seen some other deer but this guy was the only one that presented itself with a good, clean shot. Plus his rack wasn't that great so I also look at it as removing an inferior buck from the herd and I got 5 bags of meat and 4 rolls of sausage out of him. First deer kill with the 450 bushy; distance was 119 yards. I gut shot him and tracked him for a bit. When I found him he was laying down and didn't get up; just looking at me. Sent another round through his neck to finish him off. There's no doubt in my mind the first shot was fatal (the hollow point really did some damage) but at least this way the coyotes didn't get a chance at him. This was the evening hunt of 11-30. 3 pointer.

U do not have to apoligise to me because it does not meet somone elses idea of what they think u should kill. It is a bad state of afairs when a hunter does every thing right and is not elated that he got the opertunity to harvist a deer. Congrats and hold ur head high. I am happy for u

I practice no shave November year round and I had a beard long before I had ever heard of the Robertson family.
