Nice buck Jabba, but that camo pattern is a little out of date! Might as well be hunting them in sailor's dungarees! LOL ;D

Nice buck Jabba, but that camo pattern is a little out of date! Might as well be hunting them in sailor's dungarees! LOL ;D Maybe... but I am totally sold on ASAT for deer. If I wear a smaller pattern, I tend to blob out and get busted A LOT more often. In ASAT, I have many times had a 20 minute stare down with a deer, and as long as I don't move... it'll eventually decide I am not a threat, and go back to foraging and BANG! In fact, that buck right there had me busted at 20 yards! spun and ran about 20 yards, and was still 20 yards from me, when he stopped to look at me some more... BANG FLOP!!! Then the doe he was chasing ran off 40 yards only to stand there looking at me too. I had her if I wanted her, but I had enough venison to drag at THAT point. I am WAY to big a man to wear the small dark camo patterns. I'll stick with my ASAT. Jabba

Thanks.
I have been accused of becoming an "expert" after I killed this deer.
I'll take this opportunity to fully admit that I am a meat hunter and simply dumbed into this big fella. right spot, right time, good still hunting technique, and a camo pattern that works well for me. I had NO idea he was around, and was not hunting a buck specifically. i had passed on several little guys by this time though.

I was surprised that this picture was not on this forum. Squeely, Jabba, and myself all hunt together. I know Jabba has been known to post this picture. I think my camo is a little more outdated than Jabba's. However I think the old BDU pattern is timeless. Also I will tell you that trying to pick him out in the woods can (at times) be difficult.

yeah yeah... well, i was very clean with field dressing my deer. in fact as i was cutting the fat from my deer, Jabba said "stop cutting it you are reducing the weight." Also lets talk about the drag, i drug mine the whole 6 feet to the quad. How far and up how steep of a cliff did we 5 not small guys have to drag your deer up?
Now talking about how big deer are, we did the same rough score on my deer and came up with 157", and i will take you in a water displacement measure. I will say with everything considered my deer is better.
Lol. Nothing will ever be worse than your cow you shot at c&b.

Mine was good to eat. Yours was TERRIBLE.
The rest is all true...
The "cow" at C&B only weighed 168 lbs. It was the 1.5 mile drag that sucked. Give me credit... I passed on two more that day...
