A buddy and I were talking about this tonight and wondered if it would be a violation. If you go deer hunting in firearms or muzzleloader season, would it be legal to carry a .223 rifle to shoot coyotes with? I know you can carry more than one legal firearm for deer, but since a .223 isnt a legal deer cartridge, would it be a violation to have it to shoot coyotes (if you seen any) while your deer hunting? Or how bout a .22 for squirrels for that matter? Keep in mind this is mainly a hypothetical "What if" Kinda like the squirrel hunting regs state, "squirrels may be taken with any equipment and ammunition". Does this mean that legally you could hunt squirrel with a .30-06?
Maybe stupid questions, but the more we pondered it the less we were able to answer them.

No, You can only possess a non-legal-deerhunting-caliber handgun with a CCP or PPP while deer hunting if that makes any sense...
