Last couple days been seeing bucks checking does when entering the field. The bucks are younger but are running up to does and cheking them. Anyone else seeing the same thing?

Very interesting. I see a lot of red oak acorns on the ground now. They seem earlier than usual.

I remember last year the opening weekend of gun season still had a lot of leaves up on the tree. Kind of how it is now, but this is a month sooner!! I feel an early rut coming as well....

Young male teeagers feeling their oats....... I've seen it before. The pre-rut stays pretty much the same every fall with the moon phases, shorter days, & cooler temps.

Deertracks +2 Rut is always the same time every year. Cooler temps help with the intensity of it. Although contrary to belief I've read some stuff by experts that state the moon does not play as big of roll as what they thought.

All the doe's I've seen were by themselves with no bucks the only buck I've seen was not even close to the doe's.

I hunted Illinois yesterday evening. I saw 7 deer. 3 Does by themselves and 4 bucks by themselves. Well, actually two 1 1/2 year old bucks were together. The other two bucks were singular. One buck came clear across a 200 yard picked corn field to enter the woods/thicket on my side a hundred yards south of me. He seemed very attentative to something in the woods/thicket. He, nor anything else, came back out of that woods/thicket. A 2 1/2 year old six pointer was the best I saw. He was within 5 yards of my stand. The "teenagers" are up and about trying to figure out what is going on in their bodies...

I went out tonight and saw 10 does and 1 button buck feeding in the beans. I have noticed several rubs and my first scrape this evening. I would say that the rut is generally around the same time, but some does without fawns may be ready to breed in the next couple weeks.
