I would have to admit that i haven't gotten really to fired up with The Season yet, As i get older i seem to wait till the last week of Oct to start hunting every free moment i can spare? But iam not saying that back in the day i wasn't out there every spare moment i had, Just ask the Boss? OK I've been a total of two times and sit time maybe 8 hours, and other than a couple nice 8's standing in a cut bean Field, about 100 yards away, its been real slow, alot of small does and and a ton of squirrels. But like they say you cant killem from the Lazyboy, although its pretty comfy...... Need some crops to be harvested(corn), and it should heat up. Congrats to all the Guys and Gals that have scored. Just wait, one of these nights, you're going to be sitting there, expecting nothing to happen, and WHAM! Action out of the blue!

Things have been somewhat slow around my neck of the woods as well, but its like this every season. Late October usually gets the deer moving and I still have a lot of standing corn around me as well. I figure 2 more weeks until its time to start seeing some more action.

Been slow here but I think I have a real problem with yotes - Magnum wants to come down and go after them over this weekend and I think we may just get the call out and do that.

We hunted Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the first weekend.....and
Saturday, Sunday and Monday of the second weekend PLUS two weeknights.....
It's been real slow for me as I have only seen deer on my way in or out.
With that said, with all the leaves I cant really see more than 30 yards out of any of my stands.

I've seen a good number of does & 2 nice bucks the past 2 weekends but just not close enough for a shot. Last saturday I had a 130 class 8 pt. buck beddown for about 1-1/2 hours 70 yards from my stand. I could not coax him out of the thicket. I tried soft doe grunting & lightly tickling my rattle bag. Both got his attention but it is still a bit early for him to be motivated enough to check it out........ I prefer hunting big woods funnels & pinch points so I typically do not get a lot of action until around Halloween on......

I have hunted 9 times and seen 8 total deer. One 4 pointer and one small spike. 6 times out without a sighting. This in a place just a few years ago I was seeing as high as 18 deer a hunt. EHD and some if they are brown put them down has really hurt a great hunting spot.
