Well I hadn't either until I let my son shoot one yesterday at LaSalle during the youth hunt. Not knowing what the bird was we turned ourselves in and he got a written warning. I figured we could get at least one of any type of duck yesterday but I had no idea what a grebe was. After I retrieved it we had more around but I didn't let him shoot anymore since I wasn't able to ID it.

I think the best was 6 out of a blind with two kids. The corn was the best but unfortunately I believe I overheard them saying they are not going to hunt the corn for a while when the regular season starts. Mostly wood ducks and teal right now. We hunted blind 3 in unit 1. Let me know how you do.

Me and the boy were in blind 30 on sat. shot one woody and were in 23 on sunday theres quite abit of birds there a few mallars and some pintails lots of woodys and teal good luck to u theres not enough water in the baker unit yet but their still pumping no corn that i seen just millet chip
