Registration is now open for the 2009 Youth Hunt. This is an a.m. hunt, on October 17th, at Goose Pond Fish and Wildlife Area in Linton, IN. Drinks and donuts will be provided by Goose Pond, and CIDW will provide lunch and a free gift pack for each youth. This event is free of charge, but space is limited. All participants must be pre-registered by a parent or legal guardian.
The hunt is open to children ages 15 and under. All participants will learn about waterfowl identification, decoy placement, calls and calling, hunting equipment and hunting techniques. Members of CIDW will provide this instruction, as well as mentoring the youths during the hunt. One parent or accompanying adult is welcome to take part in this event with the youth, but it is not required. The adults will not hunt, but can accompany their child into the marsh if desired.
