Hey guys, I just moved to Lawrence Co between Springville and Avoca. I have not spent much time looking for places to hunt but would like to get some places for geese and ducks. I have decoys, blinds, dog, canoe just no one to hunt with. As long as the rivers are not too high I feel confortable in my canoe in the river but I really really like field hunting better. However beggers can't be choosers!
I have hunted with several guys on here but due to a couple moves over the past 4 years I have been transplanted from my home turf and not really motivated to put much time into scouting and knocking on doors. That has changed as we have found a nice place that we want to stick around in for some time. I plan to begin scouting and getting permission for fields/ponds/river access but for now I have no honey holes to offer for waterfowl. I can offer a deer hunting on a small piece of land 10 acres that has plenty of deer.
I won't try to snake your spots public or private. If you want to hook up a time or two this year for some waterfowl within 50 miles or so of Bedford let me know.
Thanks, Ryan

hey duff give monroe a try, they have draw and reserve hunts. Early in the year it holds a lot of ducks and the main lake holds lots of geese if you can get on them. My grandparents live in heltonville/ bedford and I hunt monroe 2-3 times a year and I almost always need another person to fill the blind.

I have been hunting with him for quite a few years in fact I am the person that created the waterfowl monster he is today! ;D He is a man of his word and will not encroach. When you find some ground let me know I would like to come down again in Jan. for some late season hunting. It was always a blast years ago even though you tripped me on the White that cold morning when the water on froze instantly on my sleeves! I hope you find some ground. Did you talk to the peopel with those ponds yet on the way to the ramp?

Thanks Jake, if you need an extra give me a shout. I've been eyeballing Monroe but I've been spoiled over the years and waking up early to wait in line to have a chance to hunt isn't my idea of fun. I would definately be up for it every once in a while to mix things up and look at new areas.
Cal, nope I have not. The birds have not been there since they began flying. I have my eye on a few other spots that look promising but would be a bit more of a drive.
