When I went I saw people with ATV'S on their trailers. I didn't know you could have them on that property because the paper they sent said no driving off the roads or something like that. If this was the rule why even let them in the gate? This is the exact reason I HATE!!!!!! ATV's this kind of BS is what ruins hunting for a whole lot of hard working folks who find a way to get their tails into a good spot and then 15 min before shooting time here comes lazy butt on his 4 wheeler making noise and screwing evrything up! It would suit me just fine if they made those d@mb things illegal.

While I don't have a problem with physically challenged persons needing an ATV, there sure seems to be a lot of folks who are "physically" challenged that do pretty good using their climber to shimmy up a tree. When it comes down to dragging their kill though, the O'l back is bad and the ATV comes to the rescue.

In all fairness with the newer sit down climbers its a lot easier to sit and stand a few times to get up the tree than to drag a deer up and down hollars and such. When I went I saw people with ATV'S on their trailers. I didn't know you could have them on that property because the paper they sent said no drving off the roads or something like that. If this was the rule why even let them in the gate? This is the exact reason I HATE!!!!!! It would suit me just fine if they made those d@mb things illegal. You realize it isn't the ATV's fault it's the idiot on the seats fault for something like this. If you didn't have idiots on ATV's they would just be on something else equally or perhaps even more destructive. ATVs are extremely useful tools when used correctly and much like guns they are or can be very destructive when not.

Now while it does not justify what is perceived to have happened in this case, which is just rumor at the moment. I do take offense to the language be used here. I happen to be one of the people that had an ATV on a trailer, I also have a state disability perrmit and a signed statement from the property manager required by state law, allowing me to use it on base. I do not use a climber as my disability is a back injury that does not allow the use of a climber or carrying or dragging heavy items. Lets not start name calling until we know all the facts.

Good thing it's free because it is not worth much of anything else Looks like all hunting is done with 4-ever or until we get a new CO who decides on changing the ruling. Thanks to all the folks who can't follow rules and are too lazy to walk to their stand site or drag a deer. Great job!

I wonder how many people are going to drive a couple hours thinking they are going to hunt only to be turned away.

The OIC has his walking papers in February, so for the sake of all please hope we get a Captain with some hunting values... Never happened before, but who knows....

Realhunter, In the future, if hunting privileges are restored, I hope we get some "hunters" that possess some hunting values along with the new CO.

They have a disable hunt the weekend before the first gun hunt thats when 4 wheelers should only be aloud.

Yeah i'm glad I didn't send my money in for the Dec hunt. That just ticks me off to no end when people can't follow directions like this.

I don't want to paint too wide of a stroke but that pint brush of mine is REALLY wide. sr71 hit it on the head you see guys motering through the woods telling you they can't get their deer out while toting a climber. I stand by my post. Plain and simple 4 wheelers are bad for hunting, they tear up the woods and reword the lazy while punishing the hard working hunter who tries to get to his place legaly and qietly. This is another example of that same scenario, now we all get punished.

ATVs = land based jet skis. Way to many irresponsible riders.
