Schoolmaster and I hunted there the last two days and I killed one doe and he nothing. Deer did not move good at all. The man in the office told us today that there were around 1000 hunters yesterday and killed 225 deer and today a 3:45 they had checked in 75. Not good at all. They were hardly no shoots fired this morning until 9:00 or so. We did see 4-5 real nice bucks checked in Friday. What amazed me was their bodies were small compared to their racks. Only one was large about 190 lbs or so field dressed and the rest looked to be under 150 lbs. Where I live a buck with those kind of racks would be or 200 lbs easy. The doe i shot would weigh 130 lbs. Had a great time and hope to go back next year. h.h.

I was there Saturday. I went with three other friends. We saw about 20 deer total but only one small 4pt buck, the rest were does.
I did learn a couple good lessons though..... 1) You don't need to be there 1.5hrs early for check in!!! 2) Walk back in the woods until you think that no one else would ever walk that far back and then walk another 1/4 mile!!!
The sun came up and I could see 4 other orange suits within 200 yards of my stand!! I think Atterbury would be a better hunt if the sections were smaller and they were more strict about who hunts where. (Like Big Oaks)
I would do it again though.

i have been hunting the south end . about 20 years . i think and allot of guys agree . thy need to let more hunters in to get the deer moving. like thy did back in the 80s. and let them hunt the inpack. like thy used to . VIP only but thy got the deer moving .

We opted not to go. We were drawn for Saturday but figured it would be a rodeo, I told my son that we would have to hunt togather in there and he said, lets just not go. We know where the deer run on our property lets just hunt there!
So thats what we did!
