I looked in the Hunting Guide and did not see a dove season listed.
The season in the past was always September 1.
Does that still hold true?

I haven't found it any where either, I'm still going to guess Sept. 1

Does it ever list dove season dates? I've always gotten an early season migratory bird flyer that had the dates.

I don't think the regular hunting and trapping guide ever listed it. As Matt said, you have to find a flyer with the migratory dates, since they don't announce those dates until after the H&T guide is printed.

Dove season is set by the feds because they are migratory birds. It's September 1st as always.

Actually we had a lecture on Saturday regarding doves and dove seasons. The feds set guidelines like the season cannot start before September 1st for X number of days and the states take it from there. Top issue was whether we were hurting dove populations by hunting all day followed by areas that seem depleted of doves. The state biologist in charge of the dove program said that no adjustment to the season, hours or limits appears warranted at this time. Annual take in Indiana is 255,000+ birds.
