sunfish caught in a cast net or minnow trap

Buster: I have been debating this with my bud who said it's illegal to keep bluegill if you catch them with sein, minnow trap, or cast net. We didn't keep any as I didn't want to break any laws just in case but I wanted to know one way or another.

I can't find a list of legal species and since there is not a bag or size limit on bluegill then I told him I would intrepret that as legal from a cast net as they are not protected by any laws.

If bluegill are not allowed to be kept are all sunfish type fish under the same restriction such as green sunfish & longears?
