First off congrat's to all that have harvested Whitetails over the past few weeks ! .... Great looking deer , great stories , and great memories ...Just been catching up on my HUNTING INDIANA reading .... Got my fix for the evening ! ;D I've got 3 more sleeps until I head back to Ontario Canada ... settle in with the family and start chasing those hollow-hairs ! I visited Nara , Hiroshima , and Miyajima on Saturday / Sunday ... Deer are sacred in Nara and Miyajima ( tied in with the gods ) ... In the lower areas they walk around with the people through the streets ... any bucks or stags have their horns cut .... but if you get higher up in the hills you can get some cool photos in natural suroundings ... Here are some photo op's that caught my eye ... If you zoom in , you can see the reflection of me in his eye ... This is what is left of the Hiroshima Prefrecture Hall 62 years after the bomb ... it has been shored up and supported to remain as a monument ... Took a boat across to Miyajima .... they have a Gondola that goes up into the mountains and you can get pictures of Monkeys in the trees , but it was shutdown due to high wind .... these are the shots I did get ... And heading back I saw this deer picking seaweed along the shoreline ... Good luck to all that are heading into the field .... I'll be home soon , and hope to bring up our team score !

Thanks all ..... I believe they are Sika Deer .... not very big and there are 100's around the city and park area .... many amoungst the the tourist crowds .... The ones farther up the hill liked to keep their distance ...
Hope to get that close to a big buck when I get back to Ontario ...
