Anyone else annoyed at the fact that everyone keeps saying today is the opening day of Deer Season. I just heard it again on channel 13 news. What am I doing at home today you ask. Trying to not get SHOT.

I used to skip openers, as they got a little wild where I used to hunt. I like to kid some of my gun-only buddies when they say, "Deer season opens soon!" (meaning gun season) I say, "Season's been in for two months!!!" Not that I have anything against shootin' irons. They seem to work pretty well.

I am an avid bowhunter, but I also enjoyed being out today. Not the usually craziness, and only heard a handful of shots. But then again I was on private property. Scored a really nice 9 pt. today.

It is "opening day" for most. I hunt 90% bow but still look forward to hunting the gun opener, hearing the shots, Dang if I didn't have to work this year, That annoyed me!!!!!

I love bow season. I also love the excitement of the gun opener. Nothing like seeing all the deer flying around. I saw 53 deer while hunting today. They were coming out of the woodwork. That is the one thrill that bow hunting can't provide. They are totally different animals, but I love both bow and gun.

Them folks at Channel 13......... I tell ya!!!!!!!!! I had that argument the moment I saw the scripts for the story yesterday about "opening day". The wording "Opening Day" was prompted by an e-mail from IDNR, and the producer just went with what had been in the press-release. No biggie.... I was happy that Deer Hunting was important enough still in Indiana to make the first block of news on opening day of firearms season.

Yeah, I think gun season stinks, I did not see or hear one bowhunter all season and then for the gun opener it's like sitting in a stadium and someone lets a deer loose on the field, See and hear everyone shoot. What a JOKE. Bowhunters rule in my book.
