Hint: It's not a deer farm and it is no longer possible to do this at this location

Brown County would be my guess! There used to be so many there they didn't even pay attention to you.

Brown County would be my guess! There used to be so many there they didn't even pay attention to you. Your guess is correct! We have recently moved and I was putting photo albums away and came accross several albums with nothing but deer pics. Those pics were taken in 1989

Dang! I would have guessed Brown County too. Beat me too it. I wasn't there then, but I was told it got pretty bad.

Back in the day before the herd got some population management control! The State Park reductions are working, too! Several years ago I was hunting in Clifty Park when two deer came in, an average doe and a tiny fawn. They were on me fast, and I drew and shot the bigger deer. She only went about 20 yards, but when I got there the she was a he! When we weighed the deer at the check in, he dressed at 80 lbs. Now when you have a fawn that is probably 100 lbs live weight, that's a healthy herd!

Those deer lived off people feeding them when there was deep snow. Much better, now!

I could not believe the sheer number of deer in that park during the early 90's....
I would see 20 -30 deer on every horseride back in the day and of course coyotes were all over the place as well....we had a dog with us once and had a pack of 3 coyotes follow us for a few miles...

It was ridiculous - have to give the DNR credit for not bowing to pressure and doing the right thing.

Good example of poor deer management....Luckily someone downtown got smart and let hunters thin em out..

When we drive through the park now we still see deer, not as many as before, but these deer actually all look healthy and not just skin and bones.
As a side note: When we lived in Colorado we were up in Colorado National Park and we were able to feed a young mule deer that was on the side of the road. Of course being kids we thought that was just the neatest thing in the world.
